Welcome to the Heavitree Youth Football Club Website

Heavitree Youth Football Club was formed in June 1999 when children from the 2nd Exeter Cubs (St Michael's) football team became too old to attend Cubs and wanted to continue playing football.

During the first season the Heavitree Youth under 11's team played in the Exeter Friendly Competition whilst a younger group played occasional friendly matches. The Club was very fortunate to receive the support of Ladysmith Junior School who allowed use of their playing field free of charge.

In the second season Heavitree Youth Football Club entered teams at under 10's and under 12's in the Exeter Friendly Competition whilst a new under 8's team was established to play friendly matches.

As each season progressed another team was established at under 8's.

The Club's first trophy came in May 2002 when the under 8's won the Exeter Friendly Competition Knockout Cup with a 3- 1 win over Brixington at Topsham Town F.C.  On the same day the Heavitree Youth under 12's won the Cup with a 5 - 0 win over Exwick.  This was repeated the following year when the new under 12's beat West Exe 2 - 0 in the final.

Other notable honours for Heavitree Youth Football Club came in 2005 when the under 12's won the Exeter Friendly Competition League Championship and in 2007 when the Under 14's won the Juventus League Knockout Cup at St James Park with a thrilling 5 - 4 win over Honiton.

In 2002 / 03 Heavitree Youth Football Club formed links with Friends Provident and were fortunate to be offered the use of their pitch for the Juventus League teams, and by  2006/07 the Club had teams in all age groups from under 7's to under 16's for the first time..

Perhaps Heavitree Youth Football Club's biggest achievement has been to build a reputation as being friendly and welcoming, and to provide football opportunities for around two hundred children each week.  This is celebrated annually at a Presentation Evening held at St James' Park.

A number of the Club's players have played representative football and some have been invited to join the academies of professional Clubs with the most notable being offered a professional contract by Exeter City.

Heavitree Youth Football Club is supported by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers who work hard to ensure the smooth running of the Club. Long may it continue!
